I can't believe no one has complained yet!

In any case, thanks for the heads-up. I had been looking for a couple 366s cheap to build a second SMP system. My friend keeps telling me to buy C2 and modify the BP6 board to support FCPGA, but that sounds like way too much work and risk. I think I'd rather just buy those procs and hope I can overclock them to 550 without needing an elaborate cooling system (well...more elaborate than the one I've already got).

eh

celeron 2's and most early coppermines don't have the pins to do smp.

at all
under no circumstances.

only the newest coppermines (socket 370) support smp. I believe all the slot 1 coppermines do but don't quote me on that.

so you can do smp with 2 old celerons or not at all.

*irk*

Did I say C2? I meant Coppermine :) Hack the BP6 to support FCPGA and get COPPERMINES. Thanks for catching that.

Either way, I'm just going to see how I fare overclocking these two classic Celerons. I'm looking at it this way: I was hoping to build a second SMP machine. It will either be faster or slower than my existing SMP machine, depending on how fast I can get those processors to run. Either way, for $50 each I can't complain.
