Celeron 2GHz or Celeron D 2.13GHz?

I don't know much about the intel line of chips. But what CPU is faster out of these older chips? Both are socket 478.

Celeron 2GHz.
It says this on the heat spreader on the CPU.
2ghz/128/400/1.525v

VS. This one

I have both of them and was wondering which one is faster.

310. It is easily overclocked as well. It's not a Dothan Celeron and its not dual core.

Okay. I have a heatsink from the Celeron 2GHz out of an Emachine will it work good on the Celeron D 310 Prescott??

It'll be fine at stock speeds. Overclocking will require something better, like an XP90.

Why in the world they left it as a "Celeron D"? It's making some people think it is a dual core Celeron! Some idiot salesman in Circuit City once told me..."no buddy, this Celeron is dual core, just like the Pentium D, see? it has the D at the end..." argh!

Last time i checked the performance of the northwood celeron a 2.6ghz one was beaten easily by an old willamette (or whatever it is) 1.7ghz p4 in a lot of tasks especialy gaming

The celeron d will absolutely destroy the northwood celeron.

Then it probably doesn't matter as the harddrives will be the limiting factor.

Can someone help me compare this Celeron D 2.13ghz to an AMD chip? Like how much slower is it compared to my gaming rigs AMD 64 3700+ (2.2ghz)? (Minus the fact that the Celeron D isnt 64 bit.) Like 6x slower?

The Celeron D is probably more in line with a ~1.6GHz Athlon 64, maybe even lower depending on the task.

I would say more inline with the 1.2ghz athlon 64. I just recently changed a comp from a 2.4ghz celeron to a 2800+ sempron (1.6ghz), and the sempron is faster across the board
