Hey all... just reporting on my Fry's 2.0GHz Celeron + Soyo 645D Dragon Lite mobo...

OC'ed to 2.66GHz, PC2100 RAM (it's a second system)... So far, it seems to run a little faster than my 2.4B P4 when encoding MPEG2 video (which will be it's primary purpose)... Not bad for $149...

For those interested, I had to increase my voltage to 1.625V, and leave the RAM timings at somewhat conservative settings for PC2100 (I am using cheap Fry's memory)... So far so good, and stable with Prime95 for several hours (all I need it to do). HSF was the CoolerMaster IHC-L71 silent fan... CPU runs at a reported 52C at full load, 49C at idle (that's a little weird)... how have others done who have tried this?

Congratulations for your setup. However, 2.66GHz is no problem with the 2.0GHz Celeron. And MPEG2, MPEG4 and other video coding is almost "just" speed related. So the faster the processor, the better the results. That's something I was telling all the time...

3Ghz seems quite attainable for these procs, but even then they are pretty weak. Good OC'ing fun tho.
