Celeron 2.8 w/128 L2 vs Celeron "MOBILE" 2.4 w/256L2

I've got 2 laptops, and am going to give one to my brother. Both identical, but one has a celeron 2.8mhz w/128 L2, the other is a "mobile" celeron 2.4mhz w/256 L2. Has anyone done any performance (ha, ha!) comparisons on these two chips? I know they're both celerons but I'm thinking the 2.4mhz with the larger L2 is going to beat the 2.8mhz. Which one would you keep?

I'd tend to agree with you. The desktop Celerons are just extremely crippled with such a small amount of l2 cache.

keep the 2.4 and overlclock it from what I've heard they overclock quite well

With a P4 based core the 256k L2 will do much better than the extra 400MHz.

Definitely the extra cache is worth more than the extra clockspeed.
