I have an Asus P3B-F mb and upgraded to a celeron 1gig from a celeron 400.Both are ppga and was using an Asus S370 slocket. When I put in the 1gig nothing would happen, not even my monitor coming out of stand-by.I bought a generic slocket and used it (which i'm running now,but if I set the Fsb manually to 100mhz,it will not boot into windows(98se).I now have the fsb set to 83mhz.It seems to work ok except it seems to hang up on occasionally. It seems things are slow, then i get a burst of speed(its the best i can describe it).Any insights as to what is the problem?I have bios #1008 beta ,shipped with 1004.I have tried upping my voltage to 1.8 and 1.85,no change.

Try a different slocket... and i think you meant FCPGA. Either that or the chip is a dud.
