With a Celeron 600 at 112mhz bus, 1008mhz, I have a reading at 37-42C in motherboard monitor. I can't see the CPU temp in motherboard monitor, but in SiSoft Sandra it is about 75C
At default 600mhz, the temp is at about the same level, + - 5C.

It is at default voltage, (1.73V from motherboard monitor). using a Orb heatsink and a less powerful fan. I broke the fan that came with the orb and feel it was too noisey.

Some people said their CPUs are at 35C, but mine is 75C? Is the sensor wrong or the Bx6r2 doesn't provide CPU temp reading at all? The system is very stable and the heatsink is just cool, maybe just a little warm.

BTW, when I was using a MSI slocket, the temp was about 4C lower. I am using a Abit slocket now. I don't use a case fan but there is a fan on the TNT2 Ultra. I leave the case open.

Do you think the temp is too high? What do you suggest?
thanks.

I have the same mobo and am using Mother Board Monitor 4. Try that. It reads the temps pretty good.

It's reading 75C because the BX6-R2 does not read the internal diode. I also have a BX6-R2 and had to do the mod to get the internal diode to work. I found the instructions here a few years ago. My CII 633@980 runs ~ 45C.
