celeron 1.3 or P3 1.2 ?

A couple of high surges before the power went out seems to have kill my 1g P3.

Checking pricewatch I can get a 1.3 celeron for $54 or a 1.2 tualatin for $104.

Would I be let down by the celeron on a gaming PC-Will it take a 133mhz bus?

Will be running in a tusl-2-c mb.

I'd go with the Tually- the celly would prolly be slower than your 1G P3, and no, the celly won't go 133FSB.

the celeron 1.3 will be quicker than the p3 1gig but slower than the tualatin. I would save the money get the tualatin and do some overclocking - i have a 1.0a at 1.4ghz and its pretty nippy.

Sounds like the tully is the way to go. If the celeron won't take the 133 bus I know that the system would be slower. thanks

If you get the 1.0A or 1.1A Tualeron you are almost guranteed to be able to OC to 133FSB on default Vcore. You've got the MoBo to do it with.

Are the celerons with the 256 cashe considered the "A's".

Are they all oc able to 133 or just the 1.0 and the 1.1's.

What is the highest multiplier for a 370 cely? I've seen some around the 2g area, are these P4 based?

Question1 yes 🙂 ,only the overlapping speeds have 'A' at the end (the 1.0 & 1.1GHzs)

2.No not all can ,it seems that some 1.2Ghz can though, forget the higher ones for 133FSB

3.So far the S370 Celerons stop at 1.4GHz
Celerons from 1.7GHz upwards are P4 based
