Sorry if this has already been hashed out, but I did a search and didn't see anything.

Is the jury still out on this or is it a dead issue? I have a D6VAA with no cpus, and I'm trying to decide what to put on it. I could get a pair of the p3 1100es that would work or I could wait and see what the deal with these Celerons and the new Powerleap adapters is.

And what kind of o/c success are people having with the p3 1100e? Is Malay/Phillipine an issue with those?

<< IIRC the tualatin celerons will be smp disabled! >>

Has SMP been actively disabled or has Intel just not validated/tested the CPU's in SMP????

SMP on the Tualatin based Celeron's are fully disabled. The only Tualatin based processors that are capable of operating in a multiprocessor environment are the Tualatin Pentium III's with 512KB of L2 cache, those being the so-called 'Server' PIII's.

Forget about it.

If I see another post on the internet about dual celerons I swear to god they will pay. Everyone knows they don't work, do soem searching before you post. Only the PPGA Celerons do smp and the Slot A ones if you mod them. All Tualatin Celerons and Coppermine Celerons don't due smp. That means all FCPGA format Celerons do not do smp.

Only the following do smp. I am not doign to list old cpus or rare ones.

Intel P3 Coppermine FCPGA cB0 or later stepping
Intel P3 Coppermine slot 1 cB0 or later stepping (cA0 works on the Slota or fcpga but I forget which but it still has issues)
Intel P3 Tualatin FCPGA 512KB cache
Intel P3 SECC2 slot 1 Kamati 512KB cache
Intel P3 Xeon
Intel P2 Xeon
Intel Celeron PPGA up to 533MHz
AMD AthlonXP
AMD Duron (Morgon core)
AMD Athlon MP
(note - the AMD Athlon T-bird and older Durons work but have minor issues)
Intel P4 Xeon

Uhh, Ok. Yeah everybody knows that FCPGA Celerons won't do it, but info on the Tualatins is spotty at best so take your smart-ass and shove it up your... well, ok, you can't do that, but I'm sure you can find some warm hole to stick it in.

I think you can do it with a wad of chewing gum and a piece of string.
