Hello. I've got a celeron 533a@800 on an Iwill slotket II running Mandrake 8.0

I just did a cat on /proc/cpuinfo and here's what I get:

processor : 0
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 6
model : 8
model name : Pentium III (Coppermine)
stepping : 3
cpu MHz : 801.883
cache size : 32 KB
fdiv_bug : no
hlt_bug : no
f00f_bug : no
coma_bug : no
fpu : yes
fpu_exception : yes
cpuid level : 2
wp : yes
flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 mmx fxsr sse
bogomips : 1599.07

it says PentiumIII Coppermine with 32k of cache... assuming the Pentium is just something silly, what worries me is the 32k of cache. Is that 32 what is detected?
I dunno.. is there a way to update the database, or is there a different way to check how much cache there is?

Thanks.

The "32 Kb" of cache refers to the L1(16 Kb + 16 Kb) cache, AFAIK. And a Celeron II is certainly a member of the PIII family. If the CPU isn't running things terribly slowly, your 128 Kb L2 cache is working just fine.

Well I flashed the BIOS, and the "external cache" in the bios is set to "write back" as opposed to disable.. /proc/cpuid and wcpuid both say 32k... meaning the l2 is dead or missing.

I thought maybe it was the slotket preventing it from being reported correctly or something.. wish I had a socket mobo to test it in.
