There is a small circle in our kitchen (2nd floor), directly under the master bathroom tub (3d floor) that has a leak. We noticed a wet spot on our kitchen rug, and we looked up and saw a small circle near the recessed lighting.

This is very annoying as this is new construction (completed last November). And to make matters worse, this happens on Sunday, when it's impossible to get any help or contact the builder.

It is probably flashing that has pulled away from something. An easy 15 minute fix. A couple of nails and some tar.

I had one and it cost me $150 to have someone go up there and fix it. I'm not crawling on the roof of my house either.

Be damn sure to get this documented and taken care of within your first year. Usually new home "warranties" run out after that.

If you use recessed lighting, Dismantle the fixture from below and grab a flashlight. If you can see it, maybe you can fix it yourself.

You should really try to figure out the source of the water and eliminate it to minimize the damage it will do. Shut off the water to the bathroom.

You should have a warranty on your home. Hound the builder or take him to court. Don't fuck around with water.

I looked at your house pic and thought hmm that looks like the houses in a neighborhood near where I live and sure enough you're from the same city! LOL

Looked at the Pic and I guessed Canton MI, IIRC Belleville isn't far off. Probably all the same cookie cutter.
