Ceiling fan spin direction...

I 'assumed' completely wrong on this one...I figured since cool air sinks I should run the ceiling fan so it sucks air up toward the ceiling thereby cooling even the warmer air near the ceiling--but the fan manufacturers say to do just the opposite (blow the air down).

I don't get their logic.

Ceiling fan direction 🙂

Once the fan is running for a few minutes, the air will be the same temperature at all levels of the room anyway.

um, yeah, don't you want air to be pushed around on you to cool you? that is not logic, its obvious.

but in the summertime the fan would be pushing the warm air near the ceiling down on me...how refreshing.

more airflow over your skin ---> more water evaporating ---> you are cooler

Every stick your hand outside of a moving car on a hot day. It doesnt feel hot, it feels quite refreshing.
