No, you can download via CVS freely. What you won't get is support, and access to the point2play features. You can google CVS cedega and you should be able to find a nice tutorial on how to install it. Just be aware that point2play makes it much easier to get it up and running. Plus it supports the people expanding the cedega game list, and allows you to vote for titles you want added to cedega.

CVS isn't the same as the release sorry to say... no where close. P2P is also built into the lastest 5.0 so there is a chance CVS is not as up to date and very hard to install for the latest build.

Just pay the 15.00 then cancel after you install. The only time you will need to re-sign up is if you want a new version that comes out 3 months after your first 15.00. Its not all that expensive. I didn't ugprade for a long time because I didn't need any of the new features. So I went about 6 months without paying. But with the new cedega I payed because I liked the new support. 15.00 and I wont have to worry about it for at least another 3 months.

This is a product I think is worth supporting and its not expensive at all. Plus if you vote you get a vote on what they should work on next.

Also the CVS besides being out of date doesn't have the copy protection stuff in it to let you run games without downloading a no-cd crack.
