they are finishing a new one that should be ready to ride in may called the dragster or something. it accelerates you from a start to 120 mph, then you shoot straight up and twist. Go over the top, go straight down and twist, accelerate again to 120 mph, the brakes come on and your taking back to the station. Thats why its called top thrill dragster.:Q

I wonder if they'll have medical teams on hand for the unlucky saps who get their guts ripped out by this ride. :Q:D

I'd be like "Dude, hurry up and sew me up! I want to get back line before it gets too long. Besides, I still gotta find my arm from the last time I rode!"

hehe. Oh yeah. Gonna ride it till I fall apart! Then you can sew me back together and I'll ride it again! :D

I worked there 5 summers back in the 70's. Hats off, a great place. Still go every summer because the family lives a few miles from there.

That's how I got my roller coaster jones in the first place.

New Coaster - Millennium force
Old Coaster - Magnum XL-200
Water - Never been on one at CP

BEST. Theme park. EVAR. My physics class did our end-of-year lab there last year. SWEET!!!!!!!!!

My girlfriend's favorite 'coaster' was the mine ride - but by the end of the day she had ridden the Raptor and LOVED it. :)

I used to go to Cedar Point almost every year as a kid. It was great back then and it's probably so much better now but I haven't been there in at least 30 years.

Did you ever ride it before they replaced the cars? They used to have nothing but a T-bar and a lap belt.

A SINGLE lap belt for both passengers. I remember one time, on a bet, I stood up on it. That T-bar still has the imprint of my fingers. You were taking your life into your own hands every time you got on the thing. It was F-ing great.
lol! The first time I rode the Blue Streak was around 1983 or 1984, so yeah I remember.

Ummm, about 64 days until I ride the beast. Nothing like falling straight down from 420 feet.

This will knock your socks off, but Cedar point is going to be the site of some expirimental amusement park system, where every visitor is bar coded (you wear a card on a string around your neck) and this big server tracks the movement of crowds and the people who work there are given instructions through thier headsets of where congestion is and where to send people next. Supposedly it will guarentee you never have to wait more than 10 minutes for any ride. Supposedly they are modeling it after air traffic control systems.

Never going to happen.

Cedar Point totally kicks ass, especially for the thrillseeker!

King's Island was pretty good back in the day, with a broader range of stuff to appeal to non-thrillseekers too, but since Paramount bought it, KI has become more of a big commercial for Paramount properties (movies, TV shows, etc.)

BTW: Remind me to tell you sometime about MTG's experience on "The Outer Limits: Flight of Fear" at KI.

Closest one to us is way up in Lake George, NY. They have some wooden coaster from Coney Island there. I think the one down in Jackson, NJ is way bigger but I've never been there. Anyone been to the Six Flags in Jackson? What's it like?
