We are going to be moving soon. The house that we are interested in has one thing that worries me a little. It has cedar closets. Ive suffered with allergies all my life, and Im worried that this might set my allergies off.

Ive searched online and it looks like most cedar allergies are from the dust and pollen. Its been ages since my last allergy test so Im really not 100% sure I even have a allergy to cedar although I do have a pollen allergy.

Do cedar closets usually cause problems for people with allergies? and is there anything I can do to prevent it, besides not move into the house?

You could paint it with a good thick oil based paint after applying a good primer like "Kilz". That would seal the ceder quite well.

As far as your other question about making allergies flare up, I don't know, sorry.
