I have recently downloaded WinME however I am having problems burning it on to a CDRW so that it can be used in DOS.

The burn process itself is completed with no problems and the files can be seen and run in Windows 98. However when I boot in to DOS (Win98 Boot disk) I can view the directory contents using DIR/P but when I try to load a file (either setup.exe or TXT files) the computer locks up and I have to reset the machine.

I used Nero v5 to burn the CD and have even tried EZ CD Creator v3 with the same result.

Can someone tell me the correct settings/proceedure (in either Nero or EZ CD) to get this CDRW running in DOS.

I am using a Freecom IQ Series Parrallel Port CDRW (2x2x24x).

if you want to install WinME, copy the installation files (in the win9x folder) to a folder in a partition of your computer. do the copying from windows. installing from the HDD to the HDD is faster.

your problem is not with your burn, if you are accessing the disc from an external drive, that is probably the problem, see if installing the OS from the HDD to HDD works...
