cdrwin error message

I got this message from CDRWIN:

"WRITE" command failed on device 0:0:0
Illegal command request (04h 00h 02h 05h 24h 00h)

Any idea what this means? I don't think it's buffer underrun because it happened at past 50%. I'm guessing it might have to do with HD space, but I have 164megs free. Shouldn't this be enough? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

do you have all of the latest aspis installed? Go to adaptec's site and download them if you havent. Sorry I dont have a link.
They also have something that tells you which versions you have.

I've had the same thing happen when I used to have an HP external parallel port CD recorder. I never did get the problem resolved, until I switched to an internal drive.

Did this problem just start happening? Did it work OK before? Does this happen all the time? What kind of CD recorder are you using?

This was the first time I used cdrwin. Since then I redownloaded it and burn at the restricted 1x. Someone at general hardware forum said it might be because of the crack.

Yep, bet it was the crack. The author of CDRWIN is/has been on a Holy Crusade against pirates for years, it is one of the few shareware programs I have tried that is worth buying.
