CDRWIN cant see my panasonic CDRW

i have a panasonic IDE 24x10x40x plugged in to my primary master (non ata 100) slot

so i fire up cdrwin and it says i have no cdr present..
i used to have a scsi one so im new to ide burners..
how do i get it to see my burner?

BUT under device/readers it sees it. it just doesnt think its a burner

You either need aspi drivers, upgrade of cdrwin, or they aren't compatable, although I have seen problems like this fixed just by formatting and reinstalling the OS.

What OS are you using, and which version of CDRWin?

The reason I ask is because the ASPI layer bundled with CDRWin 3.8g (I think it happened starting with the 'c' version) didn't play nicely with my Win2K and did exactly what you're describing.
