I have a pioneer dvr-105 that I want to burn stuff with using CDRWIN but when I start CDRWIN it says it can't initialize the ASPI manager and that it wasn't found on the system, then when i click to burn it says no CDROM recording device was found on SCSI or IDE bus. I used this same drive on my computer at home and it works with CDRWIN but here it isn't. Anyone know what i can do? I tried DLing the Golden Hawk aspi drivers but the DL isn't working for me so I found a different copy on the net. Still doesn't work. Anyone got any suggestions?

This has been around a long time (I first saw this in 3.8c?) but you've got a couple of options:

1) If you're going to install another burning program anyways, do that. Nero does the trick for me since it adds its own ASPI layer that works with CDRWIN.

2) If CDRWIN's your standalone burning program, scour the web for a replacement ASPI layer for your OS.

-or-

3) Remove the WNASPI32.DLL from the CDRWIN directory and put it someplace else. If that fails, move the file into your \%OS%\SYSTEM32 directory.

One of the above should work (from my experience) but if not, I'll bang my head against the wall some more. ;)
