My gf's computer a while back started acting up... i thought the Plextor 8x4x32 burner was dead so i swapped in a HP 12x burner... still no change. Just yesterday i got tired of messing with it so i crashed it and reloaded XP... this is the part i don't get... I loaded XP off of this same drive and tis running great. I burned a couple of CD's with the drive and everything burned fine. The problem is... this drive will not load a cd. No matter what you put in if you try to run install or setup it won't work. spits out an error telling you there isn't enough physical memory blah blah blah.... You can go into my computer and view all of hte files on the cd's you put in. I mapped my burner to her computer so she could at least reload all of her programs that way. computer is a 1700+ at 2200+ speeds. 512 megs of crucial and an Iwill XP333 board. It worked fine for well over a year and the last 3-4 months the cd drive doesn't work like it should. I'm out of idea's to try and fix it and am just about ready to grab a new board and chip for myself and put my old stuff into her case.
