CDRW Problem.

My HP 9100i got delivered yesterday. I installed all the software and the drive of course and everything works fine but there is one problem. When i try creating a new muscic CDRW with my Adptec Cd creator it says " The drive is being used by the Adaptec CD creator "?????
I tryed the same with my CDR and it works fine! What happened? BTW I didn't know that you have to format the CDRW before actually using it took me 60 min what a pain in the !@#.
Oh yeah and it only displays 533mb on the disc when it's actually 650.

quick format is faster. u dont have to do a complete format everytime. plus with the cost of CDR these days, CDRW is just plain silly.

When Hard Drive is format, but empty, you can read the drive with a program like Explorer, and it will tell you that the drive has all the space available. CDRW ? come formatted, but without info they can be read only by a burning program. As a result, a lot of people think that they need to format the CDRW.

You don?t need to format a new CDRW.

When you have CDRW with info on it, and you want to re-use it, you have two options, Quick format (or erase), takes only 1min, but erases only the table of content, i.e. if you have sensitive data some one else can recover it. Full erase gets rid of every thing but take very long.

There is a lot of reports that EZ-CD (comes bundled with a lot of CDRW) is clashing with certain PC configurations. It seems that a lot of people switch to Nero5 to get better results, and fewer headaches.
