cdrom & burner trouble in XP

I just installed the Nero demo... after the reboot, it wasn't detecting my drives. I noticed that the device manager said there was a driver problem. now, I know the drives worked at some point, and they still work in linux. I dont know if they died only after the nero install or before, but either way, how do I fix this? i already removed them and used the cd drives from the XP disk. any ideas? i dont feel like formatting again
 
I had the same thing with Fireburner. M$ did not give us wnaspi32.dll in XP!

Do a search and put it in the Nero Directory. I put it in the fireburner dir and all is OK.

 
ah, but "my computer" also does not list it. thanks for the tip - but first i have to get windows to acknowledge the drive 🙁
