CDROM boot up problems.

We can not boot from CDROM
CDROM is detected and BIOS set to boot from CDROM
System continues to boot from hard drive
We want to install a new OS so we have win98 cd in CDRom but it is not booting from it
CD ROm is first in boot sequence

Is the Win98 CDROM even bootable? I seem to recall that they were not...

Yeah, I don't know if the Win98 CD is bootable, either. Anyway, why don't you quit wasting time and just boot with a DOS boot disk? Don't have one? Go to www.bootdisk.com and download the files. Or find another Win98 machine and make a startup disk.
