CDR Recommendations Needed...

Hi,
I am speaking of the cd's themselves for a pc burner. I have been trying to find a cdr that will play without problems in my car stereo player. I have found the brands i have tried so far (kodak, memorex, pny, fujitsu, etc) have all had a scratchy noise to them when playing, regardless of if the cd is scratched or not. If someone could recommend a few specific high end brands/types of cdr's that may solve my problem it would be highly appreciated since i have no knowledge in this area.

yeah, fuji films are good. in my opinion, kodak ultimas are the best blanks you can buy...but they must be having a disagreement with your player.

Try some TDK, IBM, HP, or some gold cds like Kodak's. Maybe the lower quality ones don't work as well but the Kodak golds might work. Try a couple of each type and see if they work better. It's going to be trial and error for you I think cause some of the ones you mentioned are top quality. What brand of cdplayer is it?

Yeah deffinitely going to be trial and error. Its a Pioneer P1R headunit.

My best luck has been with Kodak Golds and Traxdata Golds.
Plays in care stereos, "regular" stereos, and seem relatively resistant to scratches and such.

I have the same experience with CD-Rs and scratchiness in my car CD-player. It's odd, though...I only start to get static with my CDs after the unit has been playing for around an hour. So, if I'm on a long trip, I usually use CD-Rs for the first part, then switch to regular CDs. I'll have to pick up some of those Fujifilm CDs. Do they make a good 32x (or 40x?) brand? The ones I use now are 16x rated, but burn at 24x in my writer. No good above 24x (I have a 40x)

I've had very good luck with Fuji film and Sonys. Also Verbatim Data Life Plus, Kodak Ultimas, and Mitsui's are very good too.

I've had good luck with Verbatim Valulife 16x CDRs. Then again, I've had good luck with Imation 8xs.
The CD player in my truck is 10 years old. It's a Pioneer Premier DEX M88. Awesome unit, btw. I wish I had bought the EQ that went with it. Oh well....

I like the Mitsui's, though they're a tad difficult to find. The last spindle I bought was ProDisc (because they come in colours!) and they work fine, but when I conducted a scratch test with some CDs I no longer needed, the Mitsui disc won. I couldn't scratch the Mitsui with my fingernails. I could really mess up the ProDisc.

I wasn't wearing nail polish or Lee Press-On Nails, but I do drink a lot of milk.

I noticed theres a few different kinds of Mitsui Cds... Any idea what would be the highest quality / best bet in this case? Keep the replies coming, thanks alot.
