well, i for one am not buying that story. i just don't see the prices going up 3x, or even 2x, that's just silly. there's only been 1 source which has claimed this, right? the pcworld.com article?
sorry, i've read too much about these predicted shortages in the past, ones which should've driven up DRAM prices by now, not to mention the great
monitor drought of 2000 (another 'accurate' prediction by the 'experts'). these analysts should spend more time on factual stories like dot-com's about to go under, or even reviewing the latest gadgets.
of course, even it if were to happen, who doesn't have (at least) a few 50-count spindles lying around, collecting dust? i think i have around 130, and it'll be almost 2002 when those run out.
