I'm going to be getting one of the new Plextor burners next week and I am wondering where I can find CDR media that supports 24X burning. After a cursory check, I can't seem to find anything at my usual sources. Any ideas?
people have been having luck burning 12x and 16x media at 24x. if you have any of those lying around, give it a try. but it'll probably have to be good quality media, not the generic stuff.
Officemax has a great price on those 24X Fuji's right now. They're regularly ~$20 for a 50 packm but right now they're selling them for $12 for a 50 spool plus they have a $5 rebate. That brings your total cost (after rebate) to $7 for 50 CDR rated at 24X. Not too shabby. I bought 2 spools (even though you only get the rebate on the first).
If you want good CD-R media which won't give you coasters then look no further than Fuji CD-Rs because they are manufacturered by Taiyo Yuden in Japan, not cheap Taiwan CD-Rs.
The deal you quoted is currently the best, you can buy up to 4 spindles of 50 Fuji CD-Rs for $6.99 each after $5 rebate, why only 4? There's a limit of 4 rebates per household. Buy another 4 with CASH and ask your family member, friend or co-worker to fill out the $5 rebate forms for you.
