CDR Identifier/ASPI Drivers

I would like to run CDR Identifier on my system but my ASPI drivers are not up-to-date. I downloaded the update from Adaptec but it will not load to my system because I don't have any Adaptec SCSI hardware. I attempted to load an Adaptec SCSI host driver as directed here and got a message that loading the driver would conflict with my Promise FastTrak 66 so I cancelled due to fear. Is there a problem trying to update my ASPI drivers this way? Any suggestions?
Is there an application that is as good as CDR Identifier that I could use instead?

had the very same problem. in the readme file for cd-r ident, it gave us two links to d/l the aspi drivers, I went to the adaptec one b/c it's the official site and d/led the aspi layer v4.6 (1021). I tried installing it but it wouldnt' b/c I didn't have any adaptec programs so I went to the other link:

http://support.tekramusa.com/support2.nsf/view0/53E0E85676EF7DDB88256903006ABEDE?openDocument

and d/led that driver - v4.6 (1019). installation works fine and then tried installing the other driver (1021) so it would be updated. and it worked too.
