2 $10 mail in rebates, 1 to Fuji, 1 to Circuit City. Printed at the
cash register, be sure to get both. Limited to 2 per person/household.

Circuit City has a bunch of CDR on sale and with rebates.
Many people are going for the free ones, but what a lot of
non-anal people don't realize is that the free stuff is
made in Taiwan and often of inferior quality. It may burn
AOK, but archival quality won't be as good.

If you're looking for some nice media, try out the Taiyo
Yuden media being sold at Circuit City under the FujiFilm
brand. Check the label to ensure it is MADE IN JAPAN and
not just 'Fuji' but 'FujiFILM'. This will have a off-white
screw on top and probably a blue surrounding shrink wrap.

Excellent media at a great price! I believe this expires 1/20/01.

It's kinda hard to submit for two MIR when each one requires the product's original UPC code. I hate when stores run these kinds of scam "sales".

Actually, it only requires ONE original and the other states a copy.

The Fuji wants the original.
The Circuit City wants a copy.

But I know what you mean about the impossible ones. :) But this one
is doable!

You can also get the Fuji 50 pack at OfficeMax B&M for 19.99-10.00 rebate. I saw buttload of spindles on Saturday.

FujiFILM = $7.99 after Circuity City and FujiFILM MIR.

CDR Identifier showed it was Taiyo Yuden media!

Not a bad deal at all. The TDK CD-Rs are cheapies. I burned 10 and only 2 work. I burned all on 2x just to make sure. >:)

Heh.

Those may be 'Fuji' and not 'FujiFilm' CDR's. I've heard reports of
a 'Fuji' labeled CDR spindle which was NOT Taiyo Yuden. If you're
looking for TY media, just be aware of this. Checking to see if the
label on the outside indicates 'Made in Japan' may help.

cepler,
the officemax one's are fujifilm and are made in japan. I just mailed out my 4 rebate forms today. Unfortunately, the officemax deal ended on Saturday and although the circuit city final price is actually $2 better, you have to mail out twice as many rebates and you are limited to 2 per person.

from what I have read in another thread I believe that these same spindles will be available next week at compusa for the $9.99 price after ONE mir.

Ninja, I bet the TDK CDRs that you have said are "cheapies" are the "100% certified" ones which aren't even made by TDK. The "Certified Plus" CDRs are actually made by TDK (and are crap), they say All-Speed on them and are very high quality. They are the only CDRs I use, but they cost a fair amount.

Got one. Also got the free 30 TDK CDRs, which is certified plus with a blue ring.

Beware. The receipt came out $19.99 so they have to price adjusted to $10.00.

resinboy:

The rebate is printed when you purchase the item. Read over it in the
store to be sure you understand all the details, that way you can just
hand the media back if you don't agree. ;) You get 2 forms per
spindle purchased. One goes back to Fuji, one to Circuit City.
