CD_BURNER with PIC :)

I started out with a 2x burner. Then I got a Scsi 8x burner and I thought it was the cat's meow.
Then I got a 20x Yamaha a couple of years ago.
Is it even worth it to spend $80 on a good 52x burner or should I save my pennies for a dvd-rw?

If you're really concerned about saving 1 or 2 minutes per burn then buy a quicker one. Personally I'd save for the dvd.

I have a 32X.. it's as fast as I'll ever need for burning CD's. it does like a 3:30 CD.. I had my old 12X for a LONG time (got rid of that just a few months ago) and it was fine too. any more speed is not worth the price. 🙂

had a 4x... then a 10x then a 12x then a 16x...then got sick of buying things that would get obsolete even before you finish a spindle of CD-Rs... then bought a yamaha 44x... then found out yamaha won't make any more burners. 😀 ... so i still burn at ~3 minutes. 🙂

24x has been fast enough for me since i got it about a year ago. don't think i'll be getting a faster one unless it breaks. otherwise, dvd burner's next

my 8X is staying around for a while, i don't use it that much and i have access to a 40X at work , if for some reason i have a need for speed

My 24x broke down last thursday I just burned a cd with the Memorex 52x burner burned a cd in 2:40 :\ not much faster than my 24x 🙁

i remember those 1x burners. took an hour, if you went anywhere near the computer it would coaster, and the discs cost $10 a piece.

I still have a 20x yamaha, I didn't get a burner till the day the first 16x burner came out. Then I bought that and when it failed, they gave me a new one that was 20x. I hope it fails soon so that I can get a dvd burner (gives me a good excuse to buy one)

🙂

Just got a liteon 52x24x52 CD-RW from google gear for $48 🙂

Also got a Pioneer A05 DVD-RW for $145 @ CDW
