I bought an Aopen DVD-1240 drive, which reads all type of CDs, etc. I tested it thru EasyCD Creator4.01, it reads data at 18x, does DAE/audio at 10x. I have a Plextor 8/4/32A as Secondary master,
the DVD-ROM as Secondary slave in a Epox 7KXA mainboard with an
Athlon 800mhz CPU,running Win95B. I'm using PlexMgr2K v1.07, when I open CD Copier the DVD drive is recognized as a source drive. When I try to copy a data or audio CD to CD I get the same error message: "The source drive can not copy audio tracks." Any suggestions? :D

The same things happens to me in EZ CD Creator with my Pioneer 6x scsi dvd and TEAC 6x24 scsi writer. However, I'm running win2k.

Is there an update for EZ CD Creator that will fix this?

My DVD-Rom is UDMA33, anyone have thoughts about if maybe I should re-arrange
my EIDE channels? I was thinking of this & would appreciate feedback:

PriMa=HDD(ATA66), PriSl=DVD-ROM(ATA33)
SecMa=CD-RW(PIO4,DMA), SecSl=LS-120(PIO3,DMA)

Your setup is similar to mine (i just don't have a superdisk drive).

Try enabling DMA on the dvd. If that does not work, you might have to slow down the burn because the dvd might not be able to read the 8x speed consistently.

They say it is best if your read spead is around twice your write speed when doing on the fly copies.

So try copying a disc at 4x. It should work, even though it's slow as molasses (comparitively).

Good Luck!

Using my drives (see sig), i can easily burn at 12x speed from my DVD. I have my CDR as (second) master, and my DVD as it's slave. This is the slickest setup i've ever used for this type of thing!

Bling Bling - I do have DMA enabled on my DVD-ROM (UDMA33)

subhuman - Does having both of your CDR/DVD drives that way work with PlexMgr2K/DiscDupe? Knowing that would B very helpfull...I just get that error message no matter what.

I can burn using CD Copier in ECDC4.01 but only at slowww burn speeds for audio. Data burns seem 2 work ok.

Current setup:
PM=HDD(ATA66), PS=LS-120(Mode3); SM=CDRW(Mode4), SS=DV(ATA33). :D
