CD Text on burnt audio compilations..

CD Text is only readable by machines that support it. What I mean is when you burn a cd with cd text, you need to stick it in a home audio system or a car cd deck that supports CD TEXT to see the information. I don't think Windows applications support it.

Get EAC (ExactAudioCopy) from here: http://www.exactaudiocopy.de. I use this program for ripping my audio CD's to wavs. This is a small program that supports reading CD-Text (but remember to go to Drive properties in the program and enable CD-text reading).

If you have Adaptec Easy CD Creator Deluxe (4+ maybe?), that also can read CD-text.

As I understand it CD text will display as scroll information that list album/artist/song etc.

This can be seen on some HIFI/car systems or software that supports it at the time of playing only. I think windows 2000 default CD player supports displaying this info. It can?t be seen from windows exployer or Media Player as a track name.

At the time of burning you either have to manually enter this info or download it from a database.

That's what I was thinking, I found it
a little strange that Nero would not read
that info back even though it is capable of
encoding it..
Thanks

I'm certainly no expert on this but isn't what you are referring to known as "ID3 tags"? I believe that CD-Text is like what is on those Karoake CDs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

do you guys have problems burning cd text, i have a problem with nero it only allows it to burn at 4x when cd text is added i have the sony 8x4x32 cd cdr...

I can only burn mp3 at 4x without underrun's
but I can burn data at 12x no problem..
What's up with that. ??

Nero
Aopen Crw1232

Daley, yer system has to convert MP3 to WAV/RAW audio before burning to CD. The rest of your system just can't keep up with 12x.
