Title says it all, I keep on getting crc errors, and all other errors.

I need to be able to get the files of this CD!

I don't have any 2x CD readers to try the CD on.

Anyone know of any ways, or software to help?

Thanks

You might try one of those "Disc Doctor" type gizmos - you can usually find them at a game shop, probably Best Buy sorts of places as well. They actually sand off a small layer of the disc to remove scratches. I've heard they work sometimes, too.

try toothpaste not the clear kind.
use like polish, It will often change the scratches enough to get a read. do a little at a time and try in various drives.

edit make sure you remove all the residue!

Nero also comes with a little app that lets you force the read speed of your drive, so you could try reading at 2x or 4x

I'll concur. I pulled my DC off the entertainment center one day, scratched my Residernt Evil : CV disk in one spot, abou 3/4" of an inch long. I took a little toothpaste , put it on a soft cloth, and wiped from the inside of the GD-Rom out. I followed it with a damp cloth, then a dry one, repeating that process until it read in my DC.

I have also found that furniture polish like Pledge works just spray it on and gently rub it off or try plastic polish
