I own a CD Burner.

Type: Yamaha 8824E

It's an IDE Burner.

The Problem is:
The Burner worked good on my first System (Celeron 366, 64 MB PC-133 SDRAM, Elsa Erazor II). Now i bought me a new system:
AMD Duron 800
256 MD PC-133 SDRAM
Elsa Gladiac MX
on an Epox 8kta2 Mainboard.

I use Nero Burning Rom for creating CD's and on the new system the Puffer goes full and then immediately goes empty again. Could u have any Idea what's the problem with it?

Hi,

Are you burning from cd to cd, or are you using a hard drive Image file?

If its cd to cd then you may be getting buffer underuns due to a slow transfer rate from the origonal cd, ie due to scratches etc.

A few other things, with your new system, did you install the latest motherboard drivers, to enable dma etc in windows? Is your cd writer and your cd on different ide channels (primary and secondary)?

Will try to help better when not holding squirming baby!!!!
