CD-RW for laptop?

Does anyone know if all CD-RW's for laptops connect the same way?

I have a Toshiba Satellite 4020CDT that I want to put a CD burner in.

Does each manufacturer have their own proprietary connections?

Any help would be appreciated.
 
notebook+proprietary. Usually the actual connection plug to the notebook is the problem. if you can match that up, you are good. I typically will look at the manufacturer and/ or E-bay for upgrades. (ebay= buyer beware)
 
did some looking; I haven't found any manufacturer based CD-RW supporting drives for you machine. Maybe look at USB based external burners?
