A friend told me it wouldn't be such a good idea to carry a CD-RW drive around when going to LAN-parties and such things because it's much more sensible to movement and vibrations and so on than a standard CD drive...true or not? Anyone who made bad experiences?

I don't see the reason why it would be bad. They're not as delicate as they used to be. In most cases CD-RWs are built better than CD-ROMs and have extra "cushioning" for the laser so there is no error in the writing caused by movement.

e-phex,

besides the fact I'm not living in "cali" ;), your argument sounds good...I never truly believed it anyway...I have to admit though I was in doubt because my friend is usually very knowledgable. So I just wanted to get some more opinions.
