Whats a good *external* cd-rw most bang for the buck and a good usb 2.0 pci card thats not to much $ mostly for audio?

Also how stable are usb 2.0/usb 1.1 cd-rw drives? I know they have burn proof and everything but do they burn as fast as the internel ones at the same speed ratings?

wyvrn i saw that liteon has usb 2.0 external cd-rws but i can't find them anywhere 🙁 I looked at newegg.com but they only sell the internel ones. I saw a good Plextor external usb 2.0 cd-rw but its sorta a little expersive. I wonder if Liteon usb 2.0 external cd-rws are as good as the internal ones?

The Pacific Digital 24x External Drive has lite-on inside. These have been on sale lately, and I have heard that they work great but be sure to get the driver update from their site.

katka ok i will look into it. Is there any online reseller just as good as newegg or close that has a liteon external usb 2.0 cd-rw drive and good usb 2.0 pci card ?

Lite-on 40x12x40 external USB2.0 is $109 shipped at Dell.com. part number A0054628.

USB2.0 cards should be about $10. Haven't heard about any differences in quality

now why would dell sell a refurbished item and call it new? think about it...

Edit: Btw, if you do bother to google for the part number that Dell mentions (LXR-40122A), you will find out that it's the retail box version. Here's even a picture for y'all google averse: linkie

cheapest and fastest drive would be to get one of those CD-RW hotdeals 20$ +/- and an external enclosure is around 40$.
