CD-RW drive is LOUD!

Whenever I use my CD-RW drive, there is a LOUD whirring sound that comes from it. My DVD drive doesn't make this noise and my last CD-RW made this noise as well.

Any ideas, please?
 
It shouldn't make that loud of a sound, as you already know. If it has a onboard fan, maybe that is chaffing on something or your cd-rw is not working correcly. Better off to exchange it if possible if it is under warranty.
 
Your system rig shows that you have the Yamaha. I think it has a reputation for being loud. At least from the reviews I read.
