Be very careful with these. I had the top printed layer flake off in my drive. It didn't do any damage but it might next time.

Not to be too picky, but using the phrase "CD-RW" usually refers to the actual burner, not the disks. I think you should have said "CD-RW disks." Like many people, I opened this thread thinking it might be a good deal on a burner, not the disks.

Put the word disks or media in your thread title; I thought this was for a burner.

<< What kind of moron thinks he's going to get a CD-RW drive for free? >>

I've recieved a scanner, CDR media, a Surge protector, ram and a Fax machine for free. That's just an example of the free stuff that can be had. So the idea of getting a CD-RW for free is not out of the question.

I guess that makes me a moron too. A moron with about $400 of free equipment.

Oh please. This is the hot deals forum. Anyone who's been here long enough has gotten at least 10 nice items for free (or at least 80% off retail). I got a free scanner a few months ago, dirt cheap monitor, Tivo, dvd player, $400 MSN money, Gift Certs and alot more from this forum. Plus, a year ago who wouldve thought you can get 200 16x 80min CDR's for free.

So it looks like the moron is the one thinking that "free" items dont exist.

I 2 thought it was an internal media writer thnks for the nomenclature check Slim. But small matter this deal is good for me since esp. those doing the recent, small zero net CC deals are returned with red free-shipping rebate forms [and don't see why this won't continue- I've gotten 2 so far].
And, as Ex said, "ever little bit counts" [though don't think they referred to 4.99 rebates].
Also, name-calling is uncalled [and w/o basis see replies above] but some allowance can be made in coming to aid of distaff Poster. Thanx!

Its not any crazier than getting Compaq monitors for free at OM.

This moron thought he was getting a cd-rw drive too. :(

Yeah I'd have to join the club because I was excited thinking I just stumbled upon another way to make my credit card company happy by buying another drive for my computer and getting it free..

Geez, I thought it was a burner too. If its for free media, you generally see in the title free CD-Rs or CD-RWs.

have you seen anything close to a free cd-rw ?

Those $25 HP 10x4x32x burners come pretty darn close. Various free $400 offers for opening an eTrade account, free $400 at BestBuy...

BTW - you can order these online to be picked up at your local store. No shipping/handling charge that way and no making a trip for nothing if they are out of stock. I do it this way all the time so I won't have to get up early on Sunday mornings for the good stuff that is always gone by noon.
