Cd-RW and DVD-Rom Saying not connected properly

They are a DVD: Lite-on LTD163 and a CD-RW: Lite-On LTR-24102m

Device manager just says neither one is hooked up properly. And I can't find drivers, any advice would be appreciated.

What windows version are you using? You set the master slave jumpers correctly or set it as cable select? Master should be at the end of the cable, slave in the middle.

I can recheck what it says exactly tonight. Its a friends computer and she hasn't installed or openend the case since they were working. She did move but, I check the cable and both jumpers were in and cables were hooked up. Both drives have
yellow ! next to them in device manager. It may be an IRQ conflict, both drives show up in the bios so its most likely not hardware. She is running XP, any more suggestions?

I would deduct from the move that it is a harware problem, but you seem convinced it is not, so just do a restore point back-up, to a point when they were working properly. Logically this would seperate a software and hardware problem, would it not?
