Damn straight! Do you know how hard it would be to store 200+ CD-R's in cases, sheesh!

Another "no" vote. Most CDs I burn are content backups that go into paper envelopes. Even if I were making MP3 or audio CD "backups" I'd want to choose what type of case, like the half-thickness slim cases to save space or full-size to allow a spine label.

Personally, I use a CD wallet.

Professionally, when we duplicate we give people a choice of jewel-case, clamshell, paper sleeve, or plastic sleeve. They all cost the same for us. Unless they are getting some fancy insert done, almost nobody chooses the jewel-case. They either get the clamshell or the paper sleeve. This is for software distribution.

<< Yeah definantly use cd wallets, cases are a pain in the ass. >>

i use cd wallets, too, but i like the cases for when i take the cds from say my truck to my house. i also like being able to print out the track list and sticking that in the case.

i know, i'm a real dork. :)

btw, this thread was not meant to be taken too seriously so relax your sphincters people.

I used to use cases until I started having 100's of the damn things... now they're all either in wallets or on their spindles. I hate cases now. :)

I buy them on the spindle and put them all in the wallets, a much better way to carry them all around. I also like the paper envelopes if you are giving the cd-r to someone.

Can't they get damaged in the spindles?

i had problem storing cases before so i stopped buying cd's with cases unless they are much cheaper than cd's without.
i don't really see the use of those bulky cases.
i guess it's handy to have a few, like 10-20 around (the slim kind), beyond that, you are wasting valueable space.

I use jewel cases for my music cd's and wallets for the PC software.

I just stack the CD's in a pile on top of the case :)

I put any important CD's into slim jewel cases.
