How do I enable it? It's there in the BIOS, and was visible in Windows Explorer until I tried to install Intellimouse Software...

Any good ideas on how to make it come back, besides re-installing windows?

There is a couple of things you can do.

First run the add new hardware wizard and see if it detects it.

If that does'nt work go into device manager and delete the controller the cd was on restart and see if it finds the new hardware.

If that doesn't work then you can un install the intellimouse software. Look and see if there may be newer drivers/software from the manufacturers site.

Of course I take it that the cd rom is still showing up in the POST screen?

Good Luck

Add new hardware does not detect it. Already tried that.

The cd rom does show up in post because it is there in the BIOS.

I don't think the intellimouse software has anything to do with it. It just happened to cause some problems this once. It's never happened before. I'm not sure what controller the CD-rom was on - I thought it was the cd-rom controller, which is not there anyway?

Anyone else?
