CD-Rom reading games as Audio files

My sister has a newer Leadtek 52x cd-rom running win Me and onboard sound on a Abit VA6. When she loads certain games (Star Wars series in particular) the CD-Rom only reads the game as an Audio file. This freezes the CD-Rom up as it keeps trying to read it as a audio file.
It works fine at other times with other games or applications. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
