CD Rom problems?

I have two cds a dell cd and a burned CD.

The dell cd says it s missing files. So i pop in another cd which is confirmed to work several times. and that will run until it says its "missing file XXXX.XXX

This never shows up on other machines (burned cd) is it the cdrom doing the crap reading?
 
probably the cdrom drive, maybe dust on the laser or something. if it's a basic cdrom, you should be able to get a replacement for almost free...
