CD- ROM Problems

The last couple of days I have tried to install Unreal 2 and Splinter Cell, and both have installed fine, but then when I try and play them, they both have not recognized that the play cd was in the drive. I have a samsung dvd drive and a sony cdrw drive, and putting it either one doesnt work. I have used daemon tools, but I unmounted all the drives to see if that would help, and it didnt. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

Probably the copy-protection software. Try the game maker's website for a patch to fix it.

One copy protection scheme actually detected the presence of virtual CD software (in use or not) and gave a false disc error if such software was installed.
