CD Rom not working...

Here's the problem....I was trying to install some software and when i went to open my cd rom, the tray wouldn't open. I used a paperclip to get the cd out and then closed it. Now it wont open or close. I have tried going to the Device manager and all systems are go from there. I also went to the drive listing and tried opening it that way ("eject") and it did nothing. I have restarted the computer as well and that did not change anything. The light lights up on the drive and there is power to it. So does any one have any suggestions as to what the problem can be? Or do i have to buy a new cd rom? Thanks!

If you push the open button after your turn your computer on but before Windows loads, does it do anything?

No i tried that as well, it still did nothing. But the light still lit up....
