My CD-Rom has stopped plaing any audio, winamp shows it as plaing but no sound can be heard, i have resetaed all cable, still no sound, my sound card is fine sound is heard form any other applications....

There are 3 cables at the back of the CDROM. The Power, the IDE, and the CD audio. The CD Audio is the thin grey one.....make sure that is plugged in properly both at the CDROM end and at the sound card end. Make sure that CD Audio has not been switched to mute in the volume control (double click the speaker in the system tray).
