CD-ROM Drives not showing up after installing Nero in XP

after installing nero my computer blue screened and reset. Now my cdroms aren't showing up in windows XP (fresh install, aside from winamp).

Device manger lists them with exclamation poins and the Device status says: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

I've had this problem after installing EZ-CD before... but can't find how to fix it again!

I think it has to do with the aspi layer not being install in xp. I can't remember where I got the program, but just do a google search.

What version of Nero is this? What is the exact make / model info on the CD drives?

thanks for the interest, but I ended up reformatting...

It was Nero 5.5.5.6 w/ a Plextor 8432T

On your new OS installation you'll want to upgrade that Nero version to 5.5.9.0. Much better in WinXP, especially for some folks with hardware conflicts. I hope the system will behave itself now.
