My 50X CD-ROM drive has stopped responding. I can't figure out why. I'm pretty sure it's a generic CD-ROM drive that uses the standard Windows drivers.
The drive shows up with all the other drives, and you can right click on the drive icon and tell it to eject and it does, but if you put a CD in it and try to open it by clicking on the drive icon, it gives an error message that says the drive is not ready and asks if you want to retry.
Windows 98SE
640MB RAM
GeForce II MX
13GB HD
Floppy
100MB Iomega Zip
Plextor CR-RW Drive
Low-End Sound Card
Netgear NIC
