CD-Rom and/or CD-RW ? (Which brand ?)

hi,

i am considering getting a new cd-rom drive (since the old which i can re-use is only a toshiba 8x)

Is there a point in getting an additional CD-Rom if i get a CD-RW burner (say: Liteon 16x or 24x) ???

In case i want a normal cd-rom....which brand do you recommend ?

(Speed should be around 40x and up.....)

I pesonally have a seperate cdrom for all types. I have a DVD-rom drive that I only use for DVDs, I have a regular cd-rom drive for SW and music and I have a seperate burner for burning only. Why? because I figure that the DVD and burner is more exspensive and I dont want to add unecessary wear and tear on them. As for brands, Panasonic for reg CD, Pioneer for DVD and PLextor or Toshiba for burning.

in the very least you should have a separate dedicated CD drive outside of your CDRW for on-the-fly cd to cd copying.
