CD-ROM and Floppy Mysteriously stop working

I have a TDK VeloCD burner, and a normal Fujitsu Floppy drive. They were working absolutely fine at one point. Then all of a sudden I was trying to use the CD-ROM drive and it kept on saying there was no disc inserted. The disk I used was not even a burned disk, it was a microsoft keyboard driver disc. Anyway, I thought nothing of it and just downloaded the drivers.

Then I tried using the floppy drive a little bit later and that didn't work either, and it kept on saying I didn't have a disk in there.

I don't know what happened. The only thing I can think of is that I edited the boot-up order, to CD-ROM, Floppy, Hard drive, that is it. But I don't see why that should have done anything. Anyway if anybody has any idea I would really be appreciative. And also, both drives have power running to it...I checked

I am running a 1.3Ghz T-bird
512 RAM
-3R Award Bios version

Thanks
