I have an Aopen 12x DVD master drive (32x cd speed) and a Ricoh MP7040A @ MP7060A CDRW slave drive (24x cd speed). Using Audiograbber, the fastest the DVD drive ripped was at 4.5x, whilst my Ricoh hit 17.4x ripping speed. What's up with that?
I don't know if it applies to your dvd drive but some cd/dvd drive are not that good at ripping DAE, so it's possible you could only rip cd at 4.5x eventhough the drive is rated at 32x.
32x is rate for reading data not DAE transfer rate.
